\"\"This is one of the most unique items we take with us, as well as being one of the most recent additions to our gear collection. First, a bit of back-story. I had seen this company in an article sometime around 2013, and they were producing a stove which produced electricity through heat. This was called the HomeStove, and was a larger version of the CampStove, the original version of which hit the market back n 2012. It was designed for third-world countries, and even to this day a percentage of proceeds from all sales goes to charities. I though no more of it until I started looking into Prepping as well as launching the Ford & Field brand back in 2018.<\/p>\n

Ford & Field quickly became a reseller, and we became an avid user. The CampStove 2 is an ecologically friendly way of not only cooking food or boiling water when out and about, but also of generating power, which can then be harnessed via the USB Out socket on the side of the battery element of the unit. There is also a fan built into the battery unit which creates a vortex inside the stove which in turn burns off a large percentage of the smoke generated by the burning wood. This fan has 4 different speeds, and the higher the speed, the quicker the material inside burns. Fuel can be free. We gather twigs and sticks when out walking, and dry them off at home so we have a ready supply of fuel at all times. A little pack of small fire-starting blocks is included with the CampStove 2, but we use a variety of other materials as tinder, such as cotton wool, wood shavings and even the lint gathered from our tumble dryer filter.<\/p>\n

Very compact, the battery unit fits into the stove, and the stove legs legs fold underneath its body. It comes with a carrying bag, a USB LED light and a USB cable. We also have the KettlePot, which is an elongated steel pot for cooking in, and the entire CampStove 2 unit fits into that for easy transport.<\/p>\n
